In Response To. http://sgl.org.au/benzor.txt Disclaimer: We dont need a disclaimer because were not making shit up. -Not true at all. Benzor became known to most people when he fried Beast's CPU at WCG because he forgot to put the heatsink on. (this story is based on vague memory, not sure if it was due to heatsink, but the CPU was still fried by Benzor) -Beast Had water cooling, when asked "is everything right to boot" he said yes, I pressed the power button, and I immediately noticed something wrong, and removed the power cable. The board had problems, there is no 100% evidence that I ruined his CPU, had I felt that I had done something wrong, I would have replaced the CPU. This has no relevance because at that time I was working for another company. From there on in, Benzor started advertising his little company, Irax Tech, at SGL. He contacted us and asked for sponsorship. Originally we were going to reject the offer due to the fact that compared to the exposure we were providing, it was agreed there wasn't sufficient return. A deal was struck that he host with Webdirect. Through actions that SGL initially had nothing to do with, his company became widely known as "Dodgy Tech" due to the nature of the products he was selling. - This is not true, Alex Lewis was the only one who started referring to Irax as "dodgy" as much as yelling it out at events, changing the picture linked to my registration card, and on the SGL forums. The hosting deal with Benzor was struck with Webdirect on friendly terms and benzor never indicated he wanted a receipt or any form of invoice. He never asked for one, so it was kept on file for 6 months Summarily it was discarded, only for Benzor to ask for it long after he shuthis company down (around a year after the payment). We admit that not mailing the receipt may have been a mistake, however we don't think this is relevant in the grand scheme of things. - I asked on 2 occasions for a tax invoice, Alex replied with "I don't have an ABN yet, but I'll mail you one when we get it" I also contacted him asking for a credit card receipt, and never received one. Also worth mentioning is that the card I used to pay had a fraudulant transaction on it 2 days after SGL's server was "breached" Hosting went down due to lack of security by our hosting provider. At that stage in time, it was agreed that they would take care of updating, securing and monitoring our server. It was a standard installation of the server, no serious changes were made to the security system. The attack was an attack common to that version of the kernel. When we were breached, we didn't even have full control of our server. Benzor then moved to the same people who hosted us, claiming he was after a reliable host due to our situation. How ironic he chose them. - I chose them as it would mean minimal hassle, this is not your problem, I decided to speak to them and they came up with a good deal, as such I chose them. In January 2004 everything went bad when we noticed Benzor started spreading mis-information about Michael, SGL and Alex. The numberplate incident is based on pure speculation, and no one has any evidence to back up the theft of the numberplate, there were probably 400 people at SGL that day who wouldn't have minded helping themselves to that numberplate, being around 10 metres away from the BBQ where the majority of those gamers migrated twice in the day. - I did not start spreading mis-information, if you want to point fingers, I was in Adelaide at the time at Linux.Conf.AU 2004 and was defending myself on the forums to personal attacks made by Alex Lewis and Michael Kraus. When we approached Benzor about this, and asked him to stop spreading it our request was ignored. Benzor continues to spread this bullshit today insisting he has been mistreated by SGL. Benzor was banned for this very reason, after a stern message from Tony telling him he's a loser for sitting on IRC all night finding new ways to defame SGL with some bullshit story. Benzor was lucky to be let into Feb 28 SGL, and his "nigga please" sign, which we weren't aware of until he made it more public than he should of, was not appreciated by Tony, and Tony had him kicked off the network. - The Nigga Plz sign was a joke, from many SGL's ago, before Michael started taking offence to EVERYTHING, it was sitting on a desk, and Tony spotted it. Not only did Tony say I was a loser, he said that I, and I quote "Was a no-hoper that wasn't going anywhere" A "dickhead with no life" and that i "Needed to take a look at myself in the mirror if I could find one big enough". As for sitting on IRC at night, Michael sits on the forums until about 4am every morning, moderating my posts before they can be seen, but this is not classified as being a loser? Benzor accuses us of ruining IRAX, but as far as we're concerned he ruined it himself. The products he chose to sell, his pricing list on his website hadn't been updated in a very long time. Talk about failing to sell Irax due to the adjusted reputation. What the fuck was he selling? The registration certificate? You can create your own business these days for $120!!!! So, how much would a business with a pre-defined name be worth? - I was in talks with Communis PTY LTD to sell off existing clients (On site maintenance, routine backups etc), aswell as some regular hardware clients of mine, I said that SGL had dragged the name through the mud and decreased the sale value, it was originally proposed that Irax become a trading banner of Communis. Benzor now works for Communis, a respectable webhosting company, engaged in charitable actions such as Help Bailey get a wheelchair. - When we started mentioning this, Michael said it was "A waste of time" and that Bailey did "Not need a wheelchair" So, by bringing this crap up from the past, he is trying to drag OUR reputation through the mud, something which will not be very successful. - From the past, no, the present, yes. THIS story is true and correct. - No, It's your version, like my version is my version.
