My High School class photo, and why I failed at Physics.
(copy
and paste from my thread on SA, hence the obvious references in places.
I've already posted it a couple of places, figured it may as well go
here too! Feel free to laugh at my stupidity/terrible photo.)
This morning while looking for some old PC magazines I stumbled across
a bag containing some of my old stuff from High School. I had a bit of
a laugh looking through it and thought I would share.
I went to a fairly small High School in New Zealand (Edit: Currently in
Sydney, Australia), and the following photo is my Form Seven (final
year of H.S.) class:

Click for larger version.
1: Can barely remember a thing about this guy.
2: Gareth. This guy was pretty cool. He lived in this massive
old disused brewery with his parents that had a big part of it
converted into a living and office area. There were heaps of off limits
areas like an old elevator shaft and stuff.
3: Marcus played the drums in the other Form 7 band. Actually,
the other members were all Form 6, so he repeated a year mainly so he
could enter the H.S. rockquest again. Really good bloke.
4: Steve was the class clown. Right through his entire schooling
career. He would put other class clowns to shame, and is probably
teaching Advanced Class Clownery at a prestigious college somewhere.
5: Kevin. Quiet guy, bears a startling resemblence to Spock. He was nicknamed appropriately.
6: Never really knew Jared very well.
7: Or this guy. Although I think he tormented me earlier on in H.S, there are some repressed memories trying to push through.
8: Daniel was a good mate, a genuinely funny guy. He buggered
off halfway through the year and joined the Navy if I recall correctly.
Probably better than the Army I guess, I don't even think NZ owns any
tanks.
9: Doesn't the attitude just pour off the page? James was a bit
strange, sometimes he was nice enough, other times he was just annoying
as hell.
10: Niilo! This guy was an exchange student from Norway or
Sweden or somewhere like that, and was responsible for getting me into
Magic The Gathering. Didn't speak a whole lot of english, but he could
get a Force of Nature on the table third turn sometimes! (I have since
stopped playing M:TG.)
11: Ryan was a decent guy, but quiet though. Never really got to know him.
12: Mr Buxton! He was the Computer Studies teacher and the Dean
of our class. People took the piss out of him constantly, as computer
skills weren't looked upon favourably in 1997 unfortunately. His
affinity for Macs saw the school replace its aging IBM fleet for Apples
in 1995, much to the distaste of pretty much everyone.
13: Anna, just one of many of the women I never really knew.
14: Peter. This guy was the typical rugger stereotype (Jock for
you Americans) and pashed off the girl with the biggest tits in the
school on the first camp of the first year of H.S, thus affirming his
superior coolness forever. Needless to say we didn't get along.
15: Andrew. Faux intellectual to the point of searing annoyance.
Took theatrical type classes constantly. Most likely a flaming
homosexual.
16: Me. Horrible horrible photo, move right along. Urgh.
17: Glenn, guitarist in my band, thought he was Hendrix
reincarnate and while he definately had the skills he also had the
pompous ego to match. Felt like punching him several times. Had awesome
hippy parents who listened to Black Sabbath and probably know more
about Tool than half the people on this forum.
18: I almost killed this guy when I was involved in a car
accident in 97. Luckily he escaped unscathed and helped out with the
aftermath, which makes him cool in my books.
19: The rock chick of our class. She knew her shit, and could
play enough guitar to join in jam sessions on occasion. Loved female
bands and singers, quite possibly a lesbian of the highest order,
despite dating the lead singer of the band for a while.
20: Carla. Really nice girl, certainly wouldnt've turned down
the sexing if it had ever been offered. One of the "Good Girl" crew who
studied hard and weren't raving psychopathic wenches.
21: Kate was the daughter of one of the senior staff members and
her family had quite a history with the school. Crazy as a rattlesnake
though, probably the female equivalent of Steve (#4) but could get away
with way more shit.
22: Hayley moved from Australia in 1995 and constantly copped
the Aussie jokes and constant hounding when NZ beat Australia at any
sporting event. (Which is all the time.) Moved back to Australia in 98
I think, it would be fun to meet up with her again, she was pretty ace.
23: Never really knew Nicola, but she was best friends with Bernie (#26).
24: Chrissie was probably the nicest, most level headed of the
"Queens" who "ruled the school". Would definately have hit it, over and
over again. Unfortunately that remains a fantasy in the spank bank.
25: Elly was another one of the Good Girls, best friends with Carla (#20) and a generally fun person.
26: Didn't really know Bernie very well either, but I did pash
her during the Haloween party. It was the first time i'd ever really
got pissed, and boy was I pissed. Too much warm beer. Jo (#19)
interrupted us and reminded me I had a girlfriend. Apparently I denied
this, but I don't really remember. Much shame.
27: Never really knew Kerry either, but for some reason I remember her being fairly bitchy. Ah well, what can you do?
Unfortunately this was only half of the Form Seven class, and I don't
have a photo of the rest. Shame really, there were a few more absolute
hotties in there, including the astoundingly large mammaries of Lisa.
That girl must've had some freaky balance issues. And if anyone here IS
one of the people pictured, or knows one of them, it would be great to
meet up or something to discuss old times, regardless if I thought you
were a giant fuckhead or not. Seriously.
Also, for my Form 7 Physics final exam, I got a grand total of 19%.
I had always sucked at Physics, but the teacher was pretty cool and it
was a fun timewaster. Plus we occasionally got to set things on fire
which was awesome.
About 10 minutes into the exam I realised I was going to fail
miserably, so I just started filling in bullshit answers. For some
reason I decided to blame things of faeries (yes I spelled it with the
extra e at the time) and here is a selection of my answers.
Unfortunately I don't have the questions book any more.
And so it begins... this was on Page One.

I don't know what I was supposed to put in the graph...

Look at all the big red ZEROS.

Explaning how Automatic Doors work.

Acid theory.

Yay for velocity!

"Acid" theory.

The final page of the answer booklet.

I think I finished the three hour exam in about 35 minutes. My stupid
pointless answers actually scored me a mention in the National Marking
Schedule released the next year, it mentioned something about
psychological help. That made my day.
If anyone else wants to share their class photos, that would be groovy.
